Kingsmarque Wealth Management has been featured in Financial Accountant in an article examining the growing momentum behind the four-day working week.
Written by Stephen Lynch and published on 7 September 2026, “Assessing the four-day week” considers how businesses can evaluate a shorter working week in a practical and evidence-led way.
The article notes that full-time employees in the UK work some of the longest hours in Europe, yet the country remains one of the least productive economies. It also highlights the results of the UK trial conducted by Autonomy, in which 92% of 61 participating companies continued with a four-day week beyond the six-month pilot. Increased efficiency and productivity were among the benefits reported by participating organisations.
The feature focuses on the importance of establishing clear objectives, selecting appropriate performance measures and agreeing decision-making criteria before a pilot begins. It also considers issues such as client service, workforce coverage, employee wellbeing and the costs associated with maintaining operations across five days.
Asad Khan, financial planning consultant at Kingsmarque Wealth Management, contributed to the article by recommending a midpoint review supported by a concise scorecard for the CEO and board. The scorecard would be linked to agreed thresholds, helping decision-makers determine whether to continue, extend, adjust or end the pilot.
Asad said:
“Something that says clearly: here’s where we are, here’s what’s working, here’s what needs adjusting. Pre-agree a simple traffic light approach – ‘go’, ‘hold’ or ‘go back’, so that when the time comes, the decision is driven by the data, not by whoever shouts loudest in the room.”
